From: Gary L. BauerCOUNTDOWN TO NOVEMBER 4TH: 7 DAYS TO ELECTION DAYBarack Obama And Socialism
Is Barack Obama a socialist or even a theoretical Marxist? The question has become relevant in recent weeks as Obama told “Joe the plumber” that he wanted to “spread the wealth around.” Concerns heightened yesterday when a 2001 radio interview became public in which Obama calls our Constitution flawed because it didn’t order government to redistribute economic power and resources.
Barack Obama, Joe Biden and their efficient political machine laugh at the accusation, of course. They assure us that they are just two “centrists” who are well within the mainstream of American thought. I’m not buying their denials. A “centrist” doesn’t sit in a black power church for 1,000 Sundays while a black supremacist pastor shouts “God D--- America” from the pulpit. A centrist doesn’t become a political ally of William Ayers, an unrepentant terrorist who hates America.
Obama has admitted his sympathy for the radical Left. In his book, “Dreams of My Father,” Obama wrote that while he attended Occidental College in Los Angeles, he chose his friends carefully, and he described them as: “the more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists.” Later, when he attended Columbia University in New York, he regularly attended, in his words, “socialist conferences … at Cooper Union.”
Barack Obama learned a lot from his Marxist professors, whom he sought out, and from the socialist conferences he attended. And now he wants to teach American businesses and entrepreneurs what “spreading the wealth” means.
Release The Tape!
The media’s bias in this campaign is absolutely unprecedented, and it has now reached an unbelievable new low. We knew going into this campaign that their coverage would be slanted toward the Democrats. But now it appears that the media are actually working to protect Barack Obama and hide the extent of his associations with radicals like William Ayers and Rashid Khalidi.
You know about William Ayers, but Rashid Khalidi is another radical who, like Ayers and Obama, found refuge in academia. Khalidi is a professor of Arab studies at Columbia University, but he previously worked at the University of Chicago, where he and Obama met.
Khalidi is well known for his anti-Israel comments and his vehement objection to our friendship with Israel. When Khalidi left Chicago to work at Columbia, Obama attended a dinner for Khalidi and offered a toast in his honor. The
Los Angeles Times wrote about this going away party in April based on a video tape of the event. Here’s an excerpt of the paper’s April column:
“A special tribute came from Khalidi’s friend and frequent dinner companion, the young state Sen. Barack Obama. Speaking to the crowd, Obama reminisced about meals prepared by Khalidi’s wife, Mona, and conversations that had challenged his thinking. His many talks with the Khalidis, Obama said, had been ‘consistent reminders to me of my own blind spots and my own biases. . . . It’s for that reason that I’m hoping that, for many years to come, we continue that conversation…’”
In addition to Obama’s praise, the
LA Times story noted that “a young Palestinian American recited a poem accusing the Israeli government of terrorism in its treatment of Palestinians and sharply criticizing U.S. support of Israel. If Palestinians cannot secure their own land, she said, ‘then you will never see a day of peace.’ One speaker likened ‘Zionist settlers on the West Bank’ to Osama bin Laden, saying both had been ‘blinded by ideology.’”
Remember, this report was based on a video tape. In recent weeks there have been repeated demands for the
Los Angeles Times to release the tape which shows Obama toasting an anti-Israeli “scholar” while others compare Israelis to terrorists. But contrary to the interests of a free media and an informed public, the paper is refusing to release the tape and is essentially protecting Obama.
The same leftwing media that thinks it has a right to disclose our national security secrets in the war against Islamofascism is refusing to release a secret tape of Obama toasting a sympathizer of Palestinian terrorism. I know I’m not the only one bothered by this blatant bias, but I can’t imagine that there is much benefit to Senator Obama if this story gets any bigger, because it looks like he’s got something to hide.
Then again, connect the dots here, my friends. Barack Obama attended a church for 20 years where the pastor praised anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan, even giving him an award, and allowed the publication of Hamas material in the church bulletin. Obama, along with terrorist-turned-teacher William Ayers, sat on the board of the Woods Foundation, which gave $75,000 to the Arab American Action Network, a group run by Khalidi’s wife. Obama was Rashid Khalidi’s “friend and frequent dinner companion.” Khalidi held a fundraiser for Obama’s 2000 congressional campaign.
No, nothing to see here. Move along, folks.
Privacy Rights For Terrorists, Not Plumbers
Do you remember outcry on the Left when it is was discovered that the Bush Administration was wiretapping suspected Islamic terrorists? The Left had fits of rage about the rise of fascism in America. The media denounced the untoward invasion of privacy. The ACLU filed lawsuits against the government and the phone companies. Liberal Democrats demanded hearings on Capitol Hill and even threatened to impeach the president for taking bold steps to protect our homeland security in the aftermath of 9/11.
Contrast that hyperventilating to the total silence when it comes to the real violations of privacy experienced by Joe the plumber. I mentioned in yesterday’s message that an investigation was underway in Ohio into the use of government computers to “spy” on Joe after his impromptu question exposed Obama’s socialist sympathies.
Today’s
Columbus Dispatch confirms that computers at the Ohio Department of Family Services were in fact used to check on the status of Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher (Joe the plumber) after the October 15th presidential debate. The director who authorized the search of state records claims it was just a routine search that is done whenever someone’s name pops up in the media. And, of course, Ohio’s Democrat Governor Ted Strickland is satisfied with that response. But how did the records find their way into the media?
The
Columbus Dispatch also reports, “At least four state computer checks on Wurzelbacher” were conducted after the October 15th debate and the State Highway Patrol is investigating an “unauthorized access” of its computer system.
The abuse Joe the plumber has experienced is a sad example of the twisted mindset of the radical Left – America’s Islamofascist enemies are entitled to constitutional protections, but not the Left’s political enemies. Like William Ayers and Jeremiah Wright, they harbor more fear and loathing of their fellow Americans and their native country than they do for the radical Islamists who murdered 3,000 of us on 9/11 and who would not hesitate to kill 30,000 or 300,000 if they could.
Don’t let these folks take over our country! Fight for it! Vote on November 4th!
